9/12 Rally in Washington D.C. !!

In front of the Capitol at 11am central.

Now look at the crowd! The above pic taken 1 hour after below pic!

If you want to read or watch it on the news, Fox News is your only bet.

Update: If you heard any of the speeches at this rally you know that we aren't just talking to Obama and Congress about not taking over our healthcare. This was just as much about out of control spending, and we blame BOTH PARTIES. If Republican politicians think that this rally was against Democrats and for them, THEY ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. I can count on one hand the number of Cogressman that understand the disaster of this spending, two of the best are Congressman Mike Pence and Jim DeMint. The rest of Congress, with Obama, is as much to blame for this reckless government. The Republicans had eight years to reign in government and they didn't. You start to remember your roots, or you are OUT.

Let this be notice to Democrats AND Republicans. You stop spending our future and you start remembering the Constitution or YOU ARE OUT.

That is the message of the Tea Parties. The PEOPLE are it taking back. This is our country. A government of the people, by the people, for the people. It's time we all remember that.

The Greatest Shame of The Left

Yesterday I couldn't stop watching the History Channel and all their shows on 9-11. I tried to stop. It was upsetting me terribly. I would change the channel, but somehow find myself turning back to the History Channel. Sometimes you just can't believe it actually happened. Just like the actual day, I couldn't turn away.

Two things struck me after I finally turned off the TV last night. We, as a people, from now on, will always think of the impossible.

We never dreamed those radical monsters would hi jack a plane and fly it into buildings. We never dreamed that the World Trade Center buildings would fall. We never dreamed you could make a bomb with your shoes. Now, whenever we are on a plane, in a subway, or in a building, we will now always think of what could not be possible. And we will react that way. We will imagine the impossible.

Now, if you are of a left leaning political persuasion, I suggest you not read the rest of this post. It will not make you happy.

The 2nd thing that struck me is how wrong the left was after 9-11. Wrong in small ways, and wrong in bigger more evil ways.

First, it was fine to not believe in the Iraq war. In fact, if you believed it was wrong to go there, it was your duty to protest it. The left could have done what we in the tea parties have done. Get enough people to see our side, get them passionate about it, and promise politicians they would pay with their seats, and proceed to make sure that happened. If your right, then this momentum builds and builds. Washington starts to listen and things change. Not only did Washington not listen to the war protestors, they approved a surge when all the left was yelling the loudest for us to leave.

But that isn't what they did. They built a campaign against Pres. Bush personally. They lied, smeared, and threw the most vile things at him possible. John Kerry slimed our military. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that the war in Iraq is "lost." The left kept repeating that we went into Iraq for oil. "No blood for oil" was the mantra.

How's that going for us by the way? Iraq was not "lost." It was won. They have a democracy now and we are pulling out. Yet....I see no big oil contract. I see no big pipeline from Iraq to the United States where the oil comes flowing into Washington. Funny how that worked. The Iraqi's own and operate their oil, just like Pres. Bush said they would. So you see, there actually was no blood for oil.

But there are worse things the left did and didn't do. It's all fine and good to say, even today, that it wasn't worth it to go into Iraq. That you despise war and think it is wrong. But not one person on the left, NOT ONE, has ever said, "I may not have thought this war was right, but I am grateful to Pres. Bush for killing and capturing the monsters who planned 9-11 and thousands of Al-Qaeda and it's leaders, keeping us safe here at home when everyone thought that it was a matter of when, not if, they would attack us again on our own soil."

This should be their greatest shame.

But it isn't. Their shame is greater because not only do they not appreciate the fact that we have been kept safe, they are actually for prosecuting the CIA agents that helped keep us safe from other attacks.

I'm sure many of you wondered, as I did, how was it that no radical monster didn't walk into a mall or a school and blow themselves up? There is no security at malls, and they could get into a school before anyone stopped them. But that never happened. Why?

Because to be the kind of person who would do this, you can't just be a radical Muslim, you have to be crazy nutjob radical Muslim. And what Pres. Bush did was round up all the crazy nutjob radical Muslims and put them in Gitmo. And THAT is why we were never even so much as spit upon by our enemies after 9-11.

And now of course, the left want to close Gitmo.

Once again, the left never said thank you. Because keeping us safe was never what was important to them. Their purpose was always to get Pres. Bush. It didn't matter if Bush was proven right. It didn't matter that we never had to suffer through another day of horror like 9-11. It didn't matter that we were kept safe.

And THAT is their greatest shame.

In Memory of James Debeuneure for Project 2996

As a part of Project 2996, I remember James Debeuneure who died on American flight 77 that flew into the Pentagon.

James was 58 yrs old from Upper Marlboro, Md.

When James was 45 he decided that he wanted to be a teacher. He went back to college and received a masters in education and became a fifth grade teacher in a low income school district in southeast Washington. He was chaperoning a student on a field trip sponsored by National Geographic on that tragic flight.

How we need more people like that. People willing to take less money and go into the classroom to teach our children. Who would have ever imagined he would pay such a price for it?

I read that his mother in law said that he truly loved teaching. She said that he was a mentor and friend to the children he taught. His Principal at the school said that James came early and stayed late and sponsored the student safety patrol. She said he was a committed and dedicated teacher.

He left behind two sons, Jacques and DeForrest, and a daughter, Jalin.

I know what it's like to continue on when a father dies too soon. I know what it is like for them to not have their father see their own children grow up. To not have that father, that you loved so much and depended on, not be there when you need him. It's a pain that never leaves you. My heart goes out to them.

In researching James I found the following at a touching tribute to him:

The Lord awoke me at 4am on September 11th, 2001. I remember that the name "James" was given to me, and I knew my task was to pray and not go back to sleep until the time was right. I prayed for strength, encouragement, and wisdom. I prayed fervently that James would not feel fear. I prayed for many minutes, saying James' name over and over again and hoping he would be ok. The Lord put on my heart to pray for his strength and rebuke the fear he was dealing with. I prayed, and then fell back asleep. When my alarm awoke me later that morning, it was turned to a radio station that was announcing the towers and the terrorist attacks. It wasn't until later that I remembered James and prayed once again that he had been given that strength. If this is that James, he had God on his side.

I found a guest book for James here. The entries made me cry. We lost so much that day. So many good people. I pray that we never ever forget people like James, who made a difference in so many lives.

The following was posted on June 13th, 2009 from the family:

Hello everyone:

~ JALLIN DEBEUNEURE

Even though the years have passed, those who lost loved ones that day still feel the pain as if it were yesterday. We have been blessed as a nation to not have suffered another attack. For that I will be always be grateful. I hope that we never forget how much we lost that day.

God bless this family. And let us NEVER EVER FORGET!

The Fraud and Waste of Govt. Programs

You guys know that I like to make my points as brief as possible. No one wants to read on and on about anything, but I found these lawsuits that have been brought about in the last 10 years or so regarding waste and fraud in mostly Medicare and Medicaid. It will BOGGLE your mind when you see how EVERYONE..... doctors, patients, labs, hospitals, and medical suppliers ALL cheat us out of our tax dollars. Before you go through this, remember...these are just the ones who got CAUGHT. And this has been going on since the programs started.

To think that ANYONE believes that our government will safeguard our tax money into a govt run healthcare plan any better than they have with Medicare and Medicaid is beyond belief.

Grab a tissue. This is sure to make you cry:

Hospitals

In 2006, Tenet Healthcare (America’s second largest for-profit hospital chain) settled DoJ suits for $900 million after allegedly false billing of Medicare and other federal programs. The alleged conduct included: patient diagnoses (billing for more expensive treatment than was done or called for), unreasonable inflation of charges, and illegal kickbacks to doctors.

In 2005, Health South settled DoJ suits for $327 million after (among other things) allegedly charging for false claims for outpatient physical therapy, over-billing Medicare for hospital costs, and billing Medicare for un-allowable costs (e.g., employee travel, entertainment, and even an administrator’s meeting at Disney World).

By 2003, HCA (America’s largest hospital chain) had agreed to pay $1.7 billion to settle DoJ suits. The alleged conduct included falsifying hospital-cost reports and giving doctors illegal kickbacks for patient referrals. Some of the alleged conduct dated back to the 1980s.

Drug Companies & Pharmacies

In 2005, GlaxoSmithKline settled a DoJ suit for $140 million after allegedly submitting false claims to Medicare and other federal programs by falsely reporting inflated drug prices.

Retail pharmacies Wal-Mart (2004) Rite Aid (2004), Eckerd (2002), and Walgreen (1999) settled unrelated DoJ suits for a combined $23.4 million after allegedly charging federal healthcare programs full price for partially filled prescriptions.

In 2003, AstraZeneca settled DoJ suits for $280 million after allegedly conspiring with health care providers to charge federally funded insurance programs for free samples of a prostate cancer drug.
Laboratories

In 2003, Abbott Laboratories settled DoJ suits for $382 million after getting snared in a federal undercover investigation. Apparently, a division of Abbot had offered kickbacks to federal agents to buy the company’s products, then “advised them how to fraudulently bill the government for those items.”
In 2002, four individuals in Florida were sentenced to prison and ordered jointly to pay a total of $11.7 million after conspiring to defraud Medicare and Medicaid by submitting false claims for laboratory tests that were not actually performed.
In 1997, SmithKline Beecham laboratories settled a DoJ fraud suit for $325 million after allegedly over-billing federal programs by: double billing for tests for kidney dialysis patients; paying illegal kickbacks to doctors; and billing for tests that weren’t done, weren’t
medically necessary, or weren’t ordered by a doctor.

HMOs & Insurance Companies

In 2004, Lovelace Health Systems, (a Cigna-owned hospital and HMO) settled a DoJ suit for $24.5 million after allegedly falsifying Medicare cost reports for ten years. Among other tactics, the company reportedly shifted the costs of its HMO patients to Medicare.

In 2002, PacifiCare Health Systems agreed to pay $87 million
to settle allegations that it (and its predecessor companies) had
inflated insurance claims while contracted to provide
government-employee benefits under the Federal Health Benefits Program.

In 2002, General American Life settled a Medicare-fraud case for $76 million after allegedly failing to perform its contractual duties to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The company allegedly failed to process claims, submitted false information to CMS, failed to report errors, and disguised true error rates by deleting claims selected for CMS-review.

Equipment Suppliers

In 2000, an Ohio medical supplier was ordered to pay $15.1 million and sentenced to 70 months in prison after pleading guilty to defrauding Medicare by billing for urinary incontinence supplies that were not provided and by falsifying paperwork to hide the schemes from Medicare.

In 1997, Olympus of America settled a DoJ suit for $22.8 million
after allegedly overcharging the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
for medical-imaging equipment.

Doctor Fraud

In 2004, a Connecticut pediatrician pleaded guilty to fraud and agreed to pay back $548,000 after billing Medicaid and other insurance programs from 1997-2002 for childhood vaccines that the doctor had received free-of-charge via the joint federal/state Vaccines For Children program.

In 2001, a U.S. doctor was sentenced to 10+ years’ prison after conspiring to dispense/distribute controlled substances, committing Medicare fraud, and taking illegal kickbacks. He was also ordered to pay $229,384 in restitution. Reportedly, the doctor routinely wrote large quantities of prescriptions for highly addictive pain medication, billed Medicare for services not provided, and upcoded office visits.

In 2000, a Texas doctor and his lawyer brother were convicted and sentenced to prison after carrying out a "sophisticated scheme to defraud local, state and federal heath programs and private insurers of over $46 million from 1986 to 1998." In the process, the doctor upcoded his services, falsified medical reports and engaged in multiple billing.

Pres. Obama's Health Care Speech

I didn't hear anything different from the last 28 speeches he has given on health care. He said the same things that have been disputed as well.

He said that he will not sign a bill that will add a dime to the deficit. I don't think there is a reasonable person out there that believes that. The Congressional Budget Office said that the bill the House Democrats have offered would add $220 billion to the deficit over ten years.

Pres. Obama says preventive care will save money, when that has repeatedly debunked. Study after study has said that it actually costs more, because testing many people who never develop disease increases the costs. It may save lives, but it doesn't save money.

He denies that abortion and illegal immigrants will be covered in the bill, and yet every wording that has been submitted by Republicans that spefically requires those things not be covered , in writing, has been rejected and thrown out by the Democrats. They know that if it isn't specifically rejected in the bill, it will be covered. It will fall under some other provision. It's their dirty little secret. Why else reject the language?

He says "nothing in our plan requires you to change what you have.” Notice the nuance there. No, of course nothing "requires" it, but if your employer chooses the public option, then you have no choice but to change. The stone cold truth is that the Congressional Budget Office analyzed the health care bill written by House Democrats and reported that by 2016 some 3 million people who now have employer-based care would lose it because their employers would decide to stop offering it.

This is all not to say that Obama did not make some good points. We all agree that we need stability, cost control, and expanded coverage.

The bottom line is that many Americans simply do NOT want a public option. They do not want the government involved in controlling our health care in any manner. Everyone may like Medicare, but not only is it broke, it's a scam. A Ponzi scheme. We can't let the government do this again.

You wouldn't know it by this speech but there are many plans out there by Republicans. What they should do, and what the American people want, is for Republicans and Democrats to COMPROMISE and come up with a bill that both can live with. But Nancy Pelosi and liberals in the House have opposed Republicans every step of the way. They have literally shut them out. When Obama calls for bi-partisanship, he needs to send that memo to his own party.

Pres. Obama also said "I still believe we can replace acrimony with civility." He might also send that memo to the Democrat leaders who call ordinary Americans who oppose the public option "evil mongers," compared them to "Nazis," and call them "an angry mob."

Dr. Charles Boustany (R-LA) gave the Republican address afterwards. Here are the key points:

It’s clear the American people want health care reform, but they want their elected leaders to get it right. Most Americans wanted to hear the President tell Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Reid and the rest of Congress that it’s time to start over on a common-sense, bipartisan plan focused on lowering the cost of health care while improving quality. That’s what I heard over the past several months in talking to thousands of my constituents.

“Replacing your family’s current health care with government-run health care is not the answer. In fact, it’ll make health care much more expensive. That’s not just my personal diagnosis as a doctor or a Republican; it’s the conclusion of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office – the neutral scorekeeper that determines the cost of major bills.

“I read the bill Democrats passed through committee in July. It creates 53 new government bureaucracies, adds hundreds of billions to our national debt, and raises taxes on job-creators by $600 billion. And, it cuts Medicare by $500 billion, while doing virtually nothing to make the program better for our seniors.

There has never been a more urgent need for Republicans and Democrats to come together for the American people to reform health care. Pushing through a bill that so many Americans are so angry about just because you have the votes, would be the biggest mistake the Democrats could make.

The one good thing is that Pres. Obama seems to be willing to sign a bill of compromise that would take care of those uninsured and ensure no one can lose their insurance.

So if the Democrats in Congress can manage do that, then it very well could be a win for everyone.

But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Will Pres. Obama Listen To The American People?

Meet Ted Cruz

ted and me 3.JPG

I had been hearing about this young handsome attorney in the Texas Attorney General's office for a while. He as been solicitor general for over five years. Last night I finally had the pleasure of listening to and meeting Ted Cruz, who is now running for Attorney General of Texas. I'm writing a profile on Mr. Cruz for Texas Magazine. I'll let you know when that issue will be coming out.

Ted Cruz spoke before the Texas Tea Party Republican Women's Association last night. Educated at Princeton and Harvard Law, he is serious and inspiring. He tells the story of his father escaping Cuba in the 50's. His father made it to Austin with $100 and couldn't speak a word of English.

His father is a testament to how the American Dream is within reach of those who desire it. His mother and father are both mathematicians.

At 38 Cruz has already written over 70 briefs, and presented eight oral arguments to the Supreme Court. He clerked for former Supreme Judge Rehnquist. He was a domestic-policy adviser on George W. Bush's 2000 campaign, going on to serve in senior positions as the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice.

Two things struck me. One is that he understands the importance of being a good communicator, and he is one. The other thing is that he seems to be the only Republican running for office I am aware of, that understands that the frustrations at the Tea Parties and townhalls are directed at Republicans as much as Democrats. As disappointed as we have been as Republicans in our leaders, Cruz brings the refreshing leadership that we have been looking for. He gets it.

Anyway, just wanted you to have a taste of what's you can read about later in Texas Magazine. Keep an eye on Ted Cruz.

Attorney General is just the beginning.

The Transformation Of Democrats

Once again, Camille Paglia manages to nail her own party's problems:

Why has the Democratic Party become so arrogantly detached from ordinary Americans? Though they claim to speak for the poor and dispossessed, Democrats have increasingly become the party of an upper-middle-class professional elite, top-heavy with journalists, academics and lawyers (one reason for the hypocritical absence of tort reform in the healthcare bills). Weirdly, given their worship of highly individualistic, secularized self-actualization, such professionals are as a whole amazingly credulous these days about big-government solutions to every social problem. They see no danger in expanding government authority and intrusive, wasteful bureaucracy. This is, I submit, a stunning turn away from the anti-authority and anti-establishment principles of authentic 1960s leftism.
...................

But affluent middle-class Democrats now seem to be complacently servile toward authority and automatically believe everything party leaders tell them. Why? Is it because the new professional class is a glossy product of generically institutionalized learning? Independent thought and logical analysis of argument are no longer taught. Elite education in the U.S. has become a frenetic assembly line of competitive college application to schools where ideological brainwashing is so pandemic that it's invisible. The top schools, from the Ivy League on down, promote "critical thinking," which sounds good but is in fact just a style of rote regurgitation of hackneyed approved terms ("racism, sexism, homophobia") when confronted with any social issue. The Democratic brain has been marinating so long in those clichés that it's positively pickled.

Who would have thought that in my lifetime the Democratic party would become the party of the rich, led by country club Democrats, and the Republican party would become the party of the people, led by the people at the tea parties and townhalls?

The hippies of the 60's have become the establishment they hated. Pres. Obama is a prime example. He toked his way through college, probably ranting against "the man" in late night deep discussions with classmates. Now he is "the man." Getting into bed with big Pharma, making deals with trial lawyers and unions. His goal of expanding government control over our lives is the very antithesis of long ago liberalism.

Obama and Democrat leadership give truth to the old adage: Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Transparency is the biggest lie

Thomas Sowell makes excellent pointa in this piece title "Listening to a Liar." Obama will give a speech to Congress and the nation this week that has nothing to do with what he is actually doing with our government.

Why is it that Obama was determined to push through Healthcare reform in just a few weeks in August when none of the changes would be implemented until 2013? And how interesting is it that 2013 is the year it begins. That way Pres. Obama can run for re-election with no outcome from health care reform present.

As Sowell says:

why postpone the date when the legislation goes into effect for years-- more specifically, until the year after the next Presidential election?

If this is such an urgently needed program, why wait for years to put it into effect? And if the public is going to benefit from this, why not let them experience those benefits before the next Presidential election?

Why indeed. It was so URGENT to pass this before people really knew what it involved, and yet it isn't even implemented until 2013!

Well, this is the answer to that:

Moreover, he wanted to get re-elected in 2012 before the public experienced what its actual consequences would be.

This is how this administration works. It's all about cover.

There are lots of people in the Obama administration who want to do things that have not been done before-- and to do them before the public realizes what is happening.

The proliferation of White House "czars" in charge of everything from financial issues to media issues is more of the same circumvention of the public and of the Constitution. Czars don't have to be confirmed by the Senate, the way Cabinet members must be, even though czars may wield more power, so you may never know what these people are like, until it is too late.

Van Jones is a perfect example of this. He is also a perfect example of how we cannot depend on msm investigative journalism. You can think what you wish of Glenn Beck, but he is the only one actually exposing these guys for who they are.

Thank God someone is. Thank God for the new media.

My Thoughts On Pres. Obama's Speech To Schoolchildren

As I wrote when news first came out about this speech, that if Obama had just made a speech and not had the "kits" that went along with it, it probably wouldn't have created the controversy it did.

I said at the time that I wasn't going to take my kids out of school. Our schools here sent home a paper that a parent could sign if they wanted their child to participate in another activity during Pres. Obama's speech. I didn't sign that either. I wanted my kids to hear the speech. I wanted them to tell me their reaction to it. I wanted to know what the teachers and the other students had to say. Many will argue that this isn't the orginal speech. That this is the speech that was written after the controversy. There is simply no way of knowing that.

Tonight or tomorrow I will let my kids give you their reaction to the speech and what went on in the classroom.

In reading through the speech, I can see what Pres. Obama was trying to accomplish. He was reaching out to students whose parents aren't doing such a hot job in teaching and guiding them. Heaven knows we need to inspire these children somehow.

For many African American students in poor school districts, this may have been an extraordinary opportunity for them to hear directly from a black President about what is reality and what is not. For example Pres. Obama said:

"Some of you might not have those advantages. Maybe you don’t have adults in your life who give you the support that you need. Maybe someone in your family has lost their job, and there’s not enough money to go around. Maybe you live in a neighborhood where you don’t feel safe, or have friends who are pressuring you to do things you know aren’t right.
But at the end of the day, the circumstances of your life - what you look like, where you come from, how much money you have, what you’ve got going on at home - that’s no excuse for neglecting your homework or having a bad attitude. That’s no excuse for talking back to your teacher, or cutting class, or dropping out of school. That’s no excuse for not trying."

We all know there are untold number of kids who need to hear that message. And hearing it from someone who also did not have advantages growing up, and is now President, is important as well.

He goes on:

"I know that sometimes, you get the sense from TV that you can be rich and successful without any hard work — that your ticket to success is through rapping or basketball or being a reality TV star, when chances are, you’re not going to be any of those things."

That may be the most important thing he said. Do you know how many kids out there really believe that they can be a NFL player, a famous rapper, or basketball star? Way too many. Maybe, just maybe, this could open their eyes to the reality that that is highly unlikely and they need a back up plan. They need an education.

He also said:

"I’ve talked about your parents’ responsibility for making sure you stay on track, and get your homework done, and don’t spend every waking hour in front of the TV or with that Xbox."

This is a great thing to hear from our President. Who knows how many kids will think of that sentence next time they get home and turn on that Xbox. Maybe they will decide to turn it off and do their homework.

He talked about not having a father in his life and how he didn't let that be an excuse to not try. That is a very important thing for a child who doesn't have a father in their life, and there are way too many of them, to hear from our President.

Let's face it. This was a speech for the kids who are barely hanging on in school. And frankly, they do need to hear it. Maybe it wasn't meant for all schools. Maybe it was targeted at the ones who have a great many kids without fathers, without a lot of "things, and without much hope.

So what I am trying to say here, is that this was a good thing. Yes it was executed badly, and yes they should not have sent out the questionnaires, but the speech itself could be a catalyst for so many needy children to be inspired to do better in school.

The things that you and I might have big differences with Obama is not something schoolkids are aware of. To them he is the President. That's it.

Just because many of us don't agree with Obama on policy or issues, doesn't mean we can't acknowledge when he speaks the truth and says things that are important and that we agree with.

My only problem is that as much as Obama seems to want the best education for needy children, he turns his back on programs and caves in to unions instead.

P.S. Obama ended with "God bless you." Are we allowed to say that in public schools???? Oh my. Where is the ACLU??

Update: If you think Republicans overreacted to this speech, check out what the Democrats did when Pres. Bush spoke to schoolchildren in 1991. What goes around, comes around.

The Hypocrisy of the Left on Race

In reading this post by Carl Pope, Executive Director of the Sierra Club defending Van Jones, it occurs to me that the left doesn't even see or realize how condescending they are to the African American community.

In this post, while admitting that what happened to Van Jones wasn't about race (and it most certainly wasn't), he says that some of the words used by Van Jones makes white people uncomfortable and that led to the firing.

Carl says:

Calling Bush a "crack-head" is seen by a large part of America as worse than calling him "addict-in-chief" because crack is not just a drug -- it is a drug used largely by black people. It reminds those Americans who are still uncomfortable with Barack Obama that we have a black president.

Really? Crack is used mostly by blacks? Ok. Maybe I don't know enough about people who use crack, but I never thought of it as a "black" drug. I thought of it as a drug used by drug addicts. Period.

But get his reasoning here. Since crack is supposedly the drug of choice by black people, then we automatically think of Pres. Obama when we hear the word "crack-head."

Could that any more insulting to President Obama? I think I can speak for most of my conservative brethren when I say that when we hear the word "crack-head" we DO NOT think of Pres. Obama.

Good grief.

But it gets better:

If you watch the infamous "assholes" video carefully, it's clear that what Jones was saying was that Republicans play hardball better than Democrats, and that we need to start playing by their rules. He said it, though, in the language of his own community -- and that, at the end of the day, was his crime. He spoke to and was of a part of an America that Fox and the reactionary right would like to put back on the plantation or pretend is not part of our nation.

So let me get this straight. Jones calls Republicans "assholes" because that is how blacks talk! Come on people, he seems to be saying, we all know blacks cuss like sailors!

Isn't that just a bit racial and insulting? Like white people don't cuss that much. Please. Why doesn't he just say black people eat more watermelon? It's the same denigrating stereotype that is meant to group one type of people as the same.

And WE are the ones who want blacks back on the plantation? Really? You might want to tell that to Colin Powel, Condi Rice, Rod Paige, J.C Watts, Michael Williams, Ken Blackwell, Michael Steele, Otto Banks, Joe Hicks, and Larry Elders to name a few.

Finally, he says Fox News is a "lynch mob in the making." This statement is the one that really makes my blood boil. I grew up in a time and a city where there were actual lynchings of blacks. We heard about them. We read about them. They happened in our own town. When someone like Carl Pope uses this act of horror as a way to denigrate a news organization, it diminishes the actual horror of what happened then with lynchings. It insults the memory of those who were murdered that way.

Shame of Carl Pope. Shame on his stereotypes and his condescension of black people.

The ironic thing? He honestly thinks he is own their side. But you see? He just so much smarter than they are. They need his help.

This my friends, is the liberal mind.

You have GOT to be kidding me....

Get this. Glenn Beck was the primary investigator that exposed the newly resigned "Green Czar" Van Jones for the communist that he is and has been for 10 years.

Beck put nothing out there but Jone's own words.

This was a not a case of a bunch of lies and made up junk, like the left played on Sarah Palin. This was YouTube, straight from the horse's mouth stuff, on Jones.

Keith Olberman of MSNBC has now posted on Daily Kos (the big leftwing blogging site) that he wants everyone to send him anything they can find on Glenn Beck.

Seriously. I kid you not.

What's makes this amusing is that for anyone who has listened to Glenn Beck all these years, there isn't a THING this guy has not put out there about his life. Almost daily on his radio show he would remind us that he used to be a alcoholic and drug abuser. He has long spoken of his broken marriage, his failures, his being broke, and all the stupid things he has done. There isn't a thing anyone could dig around for and come up with that Beck himself hasn't put out there on radio or TV.

I wrote back in 2007 why I admired Beck. I admire him because he redeemed himself. He hit the bottom and clawed his way out of it. He was a broken man and he put the pieces of his life back together and became a success.

So Keith, good luck with your personal vendetta. Too bad you can't channel some of that bitter leftwing energy into doing something positive for America, rather than trying to find dirt on a TV/radio show host.

Green is a really bad color on you.

Update: Glenn Beck just put up a statement on the firing of Van Jones:

The American people stood up and demanded answers. Instead of providing them, the Administration had Jones resign under cover of darkness. I continue to be amazed by the power of everyday Americans to initiate change in our government through honest questioning, and judging by the other radicals in the administration, I expect that questioning to continue for the foreseeable future.

An Inside Look

If you want an overview look at the mind of a liberal Democrat, what they want and how they fight among themselves, look no further than this piece at FireDogLake.

What you need to understand is that Van Jones is "their people." He is their kind of guy, and the fact that rightwingers can expose who he is (and believe me, he wasn't hiding it) is just unacceptable.

In their world Americans at Tea Party protests are "teabaggers" (a disgusting sexual term if you aren't familiar with perverted terms) and people like Van Jones should be celebrated, not fired.

Welcome to the far side of the moon folks.

And as much as people on that side are angry that the Democrats get into bed with big money in D.C., they know that they themselves are still the base of the party. They are just a bit angry with their daddy. Because taking over the banks, the car companies and our healthcare isn't enough for these guys. It isn't 'liberal' enough.

God help us all.

Van Jones resigns as "Green Czar"

But not without whining about us "rightwing extremists." How dare we actually investigate his radical past?

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide," he said.
"I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight,'
"

What lies would that be? That he didn't sign the 9-11 truther statement? That he didn't defend cop killer Mumia-Abu Jama? That he wasn't a self described communist? He has denied none of it and the evidence is there for all to see.

Do not believe for a moment that the Obama administration and Obama himself were not aware of Jone's radical past. They haven't said they were unaware, and are still defending him on Sunday talk shows as he exits stage far left.

Of course the sad part is that all across America people are hearing the name "Van Jones" for the first time today, because other than Fox News and the LA Times, no other msm media outlet has bothered with the story.

The Washington Post ran it's FIRST story on Jones YESTERDAY.

Bottom line. If you aren't reading online new media, you are missing out on important stories that affect us all. This is the shame of mainstream media.

Just to give you perspective, this would be like President Bush appointing David Duke as one of his "Czars" in the administration. Imagine what the coverage would have been like on that one. But of course, never in a million years would Bush have done that because we in our party condemns the extremists. The Obama administration appoints them to high level positions.

There is a much bigger story here if any decent journalist would care to investigate it.

Update: I thought you might be interested in the take on Van Jones from black moderates and conservatives at Booker Rising.

My favorite comes from Cobb, a moderate black conservative and one of my favorite bloggers:

OK, so maybe Dvorak was halfway wrong about the President's CTO, but I've seen about 7 minutes of Van Jones video, some of which is Congressional testimony and I'm thinking that Obama must really believe that older people are incorrigible and unforgivably stupid. But maybe I'm thinking the wrong way about how czarist political sausage is made. Maybe you hire smart young people who haven't built anything to be the mouthpieces of the office of the President. I thought it was supposed to be the other way around, that you got the most experienced people you can to advice the White House on how things really work and then reality-based policy moves from there. Nope. That's not the Obama way. He gets young Turks. Well, this turkey is out on his can. Let him fast talk someplace else."
